A recap of Muuto at 3daysofdesign 2020, exploring our latest new perspectives on Scandinavian design alongside an exploration of our approach to working with color in design.

For this year's 3daysofdesign 2020, we were excited to present our latest new perspectives on Scandinavian design—including the In Situ Modular Sofa, Rime Pendant Lamp, Arrange Desktop Series, Doze Lounge Chair in Leather and more—alongside an exhibition that explored how we work with color in design.

At Muuto, color is at the heart of our universe, rooted in the belief that color influences how we feel when entering a room.

Our perception of color is entirely individual—whether they make us feel inspired, at ease or energized is based on our individual senses. What evokes these feelings within us can be anything from the soft warmth of wood over a vibrant rose textile to the elegance of polished aluminum.

How we experience color is formed in relation to all the elements around it—the surrounding colors, the shape on which the color appears, the texture onto which it is applied, the amount of a color within a room and the atmosphere that we experience it in.

With our perception of color being in constant motion, the Muuto color scheme is an ever-evolving creative process. We experiment, we test and we adjust new hues up against the foundation of our existing palette, bringing unique shades that complement the existing colors into our universe.

To explore the role that color can play in design across spaces and objects, we have curated three color moodboards that pose as small samples of our entire color palette, each with an individual character yet all rooted in our universe of new perspectives on Scandinavian design.
