    Veins shaped by nature

The grey marble is a high-quality natural stone quarried in Albania, formed over many years as limestone is transformed by heat and pressure deep within the Earth. During this process, naturally occurring minerals and sediments within the stone are subtly restructured and concentrated, creating the elegant grey tones and distinctive veining that make each tabletop unique.

Shades range from light to dark grey, often accented by white or deeper blueish veins, giving every surface its own organic character. The stone is then honed to a 500-grit finish for a smooth, matte appearance that reduces glare while enhancing its tactile quality. Dense and durable, Albania Grey Marble offers both strength and a refined visual expression.

    Crafted in northern italy

Once quarried, the raw marble is sent to a small, family-owned factory in Northern Italy in the Marche region, where the material is shaped and finished using a combination of advanced techniques and hands-on craftsmanship. After cutting, each marble piece is refined through a detailed process.

The stone’s edges are shaped by hand, adding a subtle definition to the form. This is followed by careful polishing that enhances the marble’s natural veining and smooth texture while preserving its matte finish. The result is a surface with depth and distinction — unique in pattern, tone, and feel.

    Refined contrast of materials

The Midst table’s spun-steel base is finished with a high-gloss powder coating, creating a tactile surface that is both durable and visually striking. The combination of cool marble and polished steel lends the design a timeless quality, suited to a wide range of interiors.

“Midst Table is a meeting between the poetic and functional. The name refers to the center and the table being a gravitational point, while its round shape cancels out hierarchy — there is no head of the table. Its shape naturally draws us towards its middle, encouraging a meeting of minds and eyes. Our design process was one of subtraction and refinement. The Midst Table’s form and construction were inspired by an iconic architectural feature, the column, merging physical stability and steadfastness with a sense of elegance.” — TAF Studio
