On His Design Philosophy Mattias Ståhlbom I like uncomplicated ideas and I really appreciate accomplishing a lot with simple methods and materials. Obvious things that are so ordinary that they become extraordinary.
On Scandinavian design:
"I believe that it’s equivalent to fun, good social values and an uncomplicated straightforwardness— accomplishing a lot with simple methods. Scandinavian design is in one way very international, however upon taking a closer look, I guess the heritage has a great influence too. We tend to think very pragmatic and simplistic while putting a lot of work into the aspect of durability. This could be misunderstood as boring, but it isn’t."
