On His Design Philosophy David Geckeler My approach to design is affected by an attentive and analytical view on the environment. The principles that I seek in my objects are simplicity, detail-orientation, and a pinch of courage. The excitement during the creation process arises from a longing for sensible interaction between owner and object. To me, once the impression has drifted off, it is the long-standing fascination for an object or product that constitutes good design.

    On Scandinavian design:

"Scandinavian design is unique in terms of tradition and quality. I find it fascinating to see a new generation of young designers transform and reinterpret this heritage. A high degree of respect and appreciation towards design of this specific traditional background is the perfect foundation to leverage Scandinavian design into the next generation."
