MICHAEL GEERTSEN ON HIS DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
I aspire to create humoristic objects that evoke debate and reflection. I believe that design’s function is to comment or physically describe present life and rituals.

MICHAEL GEERTSEN ON NEW NORDIC DESIGN
A new generation of Scandinavian designers is stepping out of the shadow of old icons such as Jacobsen, Wegner and Aalto. These young designers use the heritage of the Scandinavian design tradition as a strong foundation from which they seek new and interesting areas and perspectives. This gives Nordic design substance instead of being a passing trend. It is design of high quality in its own understated Nordic manner.
